Course Summative: Editing & Graphics
Part A: Audio-Video Editing - Required Skills
June 10-13
Overall Objective: Tell an entertaining story that visually flows
- Through use of multiple shot sizes (wide shots and closeups)
- Sequence of shots maintains continuity, flow of action (matching action) of scene
Premiere Pro Skills:
1. Make new project
2. Create Sequence based on Video clips
3. Import and Trim clips
4. Unlink Video from Audio
5. Structure of timeline is organized and optimal use of tracks
(only use the number of tracks you need)
6. Set specific clip duration - speed/duration control
7. Export as a .mpg file with correct file name
8. Submit to project folder in server
Audio Editing:
1. Adjust audio gain to correct levels - dialogue vs. music and natural sound
2. Add music - unlink audio from video
3. Use of keyframes to crossfade audio or ease/fade sound up and down
Part B: Graphics - Required Skills
June 14-15
Titles/Graphics:
1. Create titles/graphics in Photoshop (lower thirds and full screen)
2. Add titles/graphics to Premiere Pro timeline (import into Premiere Pro project (animate graphics in
Premiere Pro if you have time.)
3. Adjust duration of titles appropriately
4. Transition titles/graphics in Premiere Pro
5. Review for proper spelling and grammar of text
6. Apply graphic design principles: Hierarchy; Scale; Position; Font style; Title Safe and Safe Action Guides;
