Assignment Expectations:
- In order to achieve full marks you must provide adequate information in your answers
- Source your research using either MLA or APA format at the end of the document.
- Using the internet and sources provided on this website page (ie: Reel Canada) as a resource, research the following information:
1. Research five communications technology related careers that interest you (ie: Camera Operator, Editor etc.) List all five specific careers along with a brief two sentence description of each.
2. From the five careers that you have researched above, pick one career only that interests you the most. Complete the following research questions about that chosen career path.
a) Why did you choose this career as your first choice?
b) Research post secondary education options for your chosen communications technology career path. List two educational programs (either a college or university) that you believe would help you to prepare
for a potential career in your chosen career path. Provide the following information for both post
secondary programs:
- Program name
- A brief two to three sentence description of the program (ie: overview, courses studied etc.)
- Program entry requirements (ie: secondary courses and grades, interview, portfolio etc.)
- The city and province (or state if in the USA) the program is located
- Length of program (ie: weeks, months, years)
- Total cost of program (ie: add each years costs together)
3. Using job, career, and/or company websites, research and find two current career/job postings for your chosen career. Answer the following questions:
- List two current career/job postings for this career.
- Which companies have posted these two careers/positions and where are they located (ie: city etc.)?
- What skills are required in order to be successful in this career?
- What salary range should you expect for this career?
4. List four qualities (team player, organized etc.) that would be helpful for a success in this communications technology related career.
5. Create a list of three questions you would ask if you had the opportunity to interview a professional currently working in your career of choice. Make sure that your questions cannot be answered with ‘yes or no.’
