Zach King
- former Viner
- now successful in visual effects production (McDonald’s, Target commercials etc.)
- his effects focus on compositing: blending images together to create the illusion of reality
- it’s all about > his idea > thinking and planning of how he can accomplish it > he is always telling a story
Creating the "illusion of reality"
- creating environments that you wouldn't be able to create without very large production budgets
- fooling the audience to believe what they are seeing is real
- creating visual effects that are impractical (especially when safety is involved) i.e.: creating entire cities; cloning; flying etc.
- this typically involves compositing, masking, editing
- creating and staging these stunning effects requires attention to detail at all stages of production; Pre-production (the planning), Production (the shooting/recording) and Post-production (the editing)
Workflow and File Management
- you must be organized before you can be creative
- all files must be saved locally on your computer (you cannot work with files located on a server/cloud)
- all project files must be copied and pasted from server/cloud to your computer folder
