Stage 2 Requirements:
Part A - Students will create a rough floor plan sketch to outline their initial ideas for their dream bedroom. The sketch does not require the use of a ruler and should be done quickly but neat enough to communicate.
Part A - Students will create a rough floor plan sketch to outline their initial ideas for their dream bedroom. The sketch does not require the use of a ruler and should be done quickly but neat enough to communicate.
Part B - Once the rough sketch has been completed students will create a refined floor plan drawing. This is to be completed using a ruler, and includes proper labels and dimensions.

Room Elements: students must include the following items with labels:
- walls (interior and exterior)
- Doors
- Windows
- Main bedroom area (bed, night stands, dresser etc.)
- Washroom (toilet, sink, shower/bath)
- Closet
- Computer/Work desk and chair
- Lounging area (could have couch, chairs, tv, stereo, gaming centre etc.)
- all major furniture must be included
- must use a ruler to create straight lines
Labels - all elements except doors and windows (all labels must be legible from one viewpoint)
Dimensions - must dimension all walls (exterior and interior) and windows in to nearest foot (') and inch (")
NOTE: In Stage 02 - Ensure you include correct measurements in feet and inches (ie: 7" 4" not 7.4') Decimals are not to be used in architectural drawings or sketches.
Note: The student exemplars below for Stage 2: Floor Plan Drawing of their bedroom floor plan represent a high Level 3. They meet nearly all requirements, neatness and near perfect measurements/dimensions.
Note: The student Floor Plan Drawing below of their bedroom floor plan represents a low Level 2 as the door icons are incorrect and some of the measurements (decimals should not be used) and dimension lines are also incorrect or incomplete. The student also did not use a ruler for straight and neat lines as required.
