Interview Production - Things to consider
Overall
Technical
Overall
- honest student cooperation
- students uninformed on topics
- teachers evading opinion based questions
- students not wanting to be on-camera (O/C)
- students no re-instating questions in their answers
- students not providing in depth answers
- revising questions for story and time relevancy
- O/C laughing and goofing around
- having to be persistent to get interviewees
- controlling visual background (BG) distractions (ie: student behaviour) - change location to where students can’t or won’t be - if visuals can be covered my b-roll stay in location - if BG audio is the issue must change locations
- interviewees proving repetitive answers
Technical
- auto focus issues (background to foreground - BG>FG)
- when/where to use the light (hand held LED)
- finding locations/BG with depth
- audio levels (loud BG)
- holding camera still (handheld)
- interviews moving microphone - incorrect placement
