Sound Design:
Foley Research & Recording
Foley Research
Using the notes from your spotting session you will need to research and determine what materials, items, props etc. you require in order to create all necessary foley by performing and recording the actions for required events.
Foley Recording Session
Once you have your time codes in a list for foley, the picture can be imported into Audition. Using a mic and props, Foley Artists will go from code to code performing and recording the actions for required events. It’s best to have one track record enabled, and then four tracks below it, already muted. This way as you’re recording, you can drag the first take down, and quickly record a second take - once at four takes, it’s a good idea to pause, and watch them back. Waveforms can be sliced and moved to adjust and fine tune sync.
